We are a mere handful of hours from the beginning of a new BattleReign season. The defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers will clash with the mighty Saints of New Orleans, the victor becoming the first BattleReign champion of the 2011 campaign.
If you are unfamiliar with the BattleReign concept, here’s a brief synopsis. The Super Bowl champs defend their title as if defending a boxing, pro wrestling, or UFC championship. If/When they lose a regular season game, their opponent becomes the new defending champion of the BattleReign crown.
Previously, this site attempted to track the BattleReign concept throughout the four major sports; NFL, MLB, NHL, and NBA. This is no longer the case. It is much easier to stick with the NFL, at least for now. I may branch out to other sports in the future. But for now, it’s football, baby!
So get ready. The season kicks off Thursday, September 8th. Will Green Bay successfully defend the Super Bowl crown and claim the BattleReign championship? Or will their name be added alongside the 12 previous Super Bowl champions that failed to capture the BattleReign title in Week 1?
